The Singularity is no longer just for artificial minds. For the first time, we are witnessing the digital embodiment of a biological brain that actually behaves.

Eon Systems has released a demonstration of a whole-brain emulation (WBE) of an adult Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly). This isn't an animation or an AI mimicking a fly—it’s a neuron-by-neuron copy of a biological brain running in a physics simulation.

The Technical Leap:
The Scale: 125,000 neurons and 50 million synaptic connections mapped via electron microscopy.

The "Body": Unlike previous "disembodied" models, this brain is integrated with a physically simulated fly body in MuJoCo.
