Response from Attorney Uri Korav, legal representative of Chief Superintendent Meni Binyamin, Head of Lahav 433:
My client, the Head of Lahav, was questioned for 7 hours by the Police Investigations Department, fully cooperated in the investigation, and provided the investigators with the code and his phone device.
My client's version clarified that there was no fault in his actions, and it is no coincidence that he was released without conditions, except for being suspended from his work until next Thursday.
Unfortunately, a gag order has been imposed on the case - which does not allow my client to share facts at this stage - an order that leads to the spread of urban legends and baseless stories.
Soon the details will be revealed and it will become clear that this is mostly a fuss about nothing, and the Head of Lahav will return to his dedicated work for the public.

Judge Stein - The minister must appoint, according to his choice, a senior legal expert with expertise in criminal law, free from personal interests and political influences – that is: a person whose overall profile brings him, as much as possible, closer to a senior prosecutor from the State Prosecutor's Office. Netanyahu:

In recent days, we are witnessing an organized pressure campaign by senior former officials who seek to distort the facts and dictate to the government how it should act.

These individuals allowed anarchy to penetrate the state’s institutions and to harm the cohesion of the IDF and the security systems by promoting refusal to serve. Today they are trying to influence the nature of the investigation that will examine the failures that led to the disaster of October 7.

These individuals must not be involved in the decisions and considerations that will determine how the disaster will be investigated.
That is a clear conflict of interest.

The State of Israel needs the pursuit of truth.

We will ensure that the national commission of inquiry will be broad, impartial, professional, represent the entire public—both the opposition and the coalition equally—and be committed only to one thing: the truth, for the sake of Israel’s security.

Such an equitable commission, half Democratic and half Republican, was established in the United States after the 9/11 disaster and did an excellent job. In this matter, what is good for America is good for Israel.
