1️⃣ To rent

🤎 Meaning: To pay money to the owner of a property in order to live there.

🤎 Example: Many young professionals choose to rent in the city center for convenience.

2️⃣ To rent out / let out

🤎 Meaning: To allow someone to use your property in exchange for regular payment.

🤎 Example: They decided to rent out their apartment while traveling abroad for a year.

3️⃣ Rented accommodation

🤎 Meaning: A property that is occupied by a tenant who pays rent to the owner.

🤎 Example: The high cost of living has increased demand for affordable rented accommodation.

4️⃣ Landlord / landlady

🤎 Meaning: The owner of a property that is rented to others.

🤎 Example: Our landlady is very responsive and fixes any issues within a day.

5️⃣ Tenant

🤎 Meaning: A person who rents and occupies a property owned by someone else.

🤎 Example: The new tenants moved in last weekend and seem very quiet.

6️⃣ To give notice

🤎 Meaning: To formally inform a landlord or tenant about the intention to end a rental agreement.

🤎 Example: According to the contract, you must give at least one month's notice before moving out.

7️⃣ To put down a deposit

🤎 Meaning: To pay an initial sum of money as security when starting a rental agreement.

🤎 Example: We had to put down a deposit equal to one month's rent before we could get the keys.

8️⃣ Lease

🤎 Meaning: A legal contract outlining the terms and conditions of renting a property.

🤎 Example: Before signing the lease, make sure you understand all the clauses about repairs and maintenance.

9️⃣ Short-term rental / lease

🤎 Meaning: A rental agreement for a limited period, typically less than six months.

🤎 Example: They offered me a short-term lease while I searched for a permanent place to live.

🤎 Meaning: To legally force a tenant to leave a property, usually due to a breach of contract.

🤎 Example: The landlord had no choice but to evict the tenants after months of unpaid rent.
