Claudia López, mayor of Bogotá, wrote a tweet this Sunday inviting Venezuelan migrants in the Colombian capital to vote in the primaries.
He also showed his support for María Corina Machado, whom he said he had known since 2009 at Yale University, in the United States.
“For all Venezuelans, Bogotá will always be their home, but today is the day to exercise their democratic right for their homeland. I invite the new Bogota residents to go to Corferias and exercise their electoral right. To my friend and brave woman @MariaCorinaYA I send my hug and admiration. May the virgin and your people accompany you. And that Venezuela recovers its democracy, its freedom and prosperity,” he said.
