🇪🇨🇵🇪Ecuador clarifies that Peru bombarded illegal mining within its territory

The clarification arises after videos of bombardments from Peruvian military helicopters to the machinery, presumably coming from Ecuador, were disseminated.

In this regard, the Ecuadorian Armed Forces indicated that the authorities of the neighboring country carried out their actions in their demarcation, "according to the use of their rights" and ruled out that there was an overflight outside their airspace.
🇵🇪Former Perú president Pedro Castillo denies the accusations against him: "I am in prison because I did not sign the 'hoja de ruta"

The former president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, reiterated his innocence during the hearing requesting preventive detention for 36 months.

💬 "I have a clear conscience, I did not steal a penny (...) what I am going through today is because I did not sign the 'road map', because I did not allow them to be negotiated, because I started to collect the big ones historical accounts that this country has to the big transnationals" , stressed the ex-president.

The 'hoja de ruta' is the name used in Peru to refer to the pact established between former dignitary Ollanta Humala (2011-2016) and the country's business elite , with which the economic model was maintained and political continuity was guaranteed. Since then, no president has managed to finish his term.

🇻🇪🌳📲 Report felling of trees in Barquisimeto:

A large number of trees were felled on Los Leones avenue, east of the city of Barquisimeto, in the state of Lara, a situation that aroused anger among the community in general.

The workers who were felling the trees were identified with Civil Protection uniforms, although they did not want to issue any opinion when approached.

Presumably, a private company in the area would have ordered the felling of these trees.

The leader of Primero Justicia, Julio Montoya, released this Wednesday, March 8, an unusual video on the occasion of International Women's Day, in which he is shown wearing a wig.

"Solidarity greetings and congratulations to all the women on their day," begins the parliamentarian, who appears on camera wearing a redhead wig with braids.

Montoya assures that “support and awareness towards women is not putting on a wig. It is fighting alongside them to build a better country. It is fighting for the mother who has to support a family. It is fighting for our women pensioners who do not have a pension to survive..."

Finally, the leader of PJ affirms that “the fight for women does not belong to feminism. It is the woman who accompanies us and builds with us a beautiful Venezuela like those flowers that she represents”.
🇪🇨🇻🇪former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa considered this Thursday (03.09.2023) that it would be a "geopolitical suicide" to dollarize the Venezuelan economy.

“There is great pressure from the right, and sometimes from the supposed left, to dollarize the Venezuelan economy. Comrades, compañeros, if someone from the left talks to you about dollarizing the Venezuelan economy, he is a traitor, it is geopolitical suicide” , he said during an official act commemorating the “Bolivarian Anti-imperialism Day” , held in Caracas.

In his opinion, dollarization is "another form of economic imperialism."

In this sense, he stressed that the national currency of each nation is the main mechanism of "economic and social coordination that a country has."

“In Ecuador, we have to go by plane to see the tickets to the United States, that is dollarization, we have to go by plane to exchange old tickets for new ones. If they close that tap on us, the Ecuadorian economy will collapse,” said Correa.

🚨🇵🇪🚔 Justice of Peru dictates 3 years of preventive detention against Pedro Castillo:

The Judiciary, through magistrate Juan Carlos Checkley Soria, decided this Thursday, March 9, that Pedro Castillo will continue in preventive detention for another three years.

🇻🇪 Venezuela has the "highest" adolescent pregnancy rate in the region

Venezuela has the “highest” adolescent pregnancy rate in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the executive director of the Center for the Study of Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Suzany González, warned this Wednesday.

González specified that 67 out of every thousand adolescents in the region become pregnant. However, in Venezuela this rate increases to 97.7, a figure that can be "worrying", especially in the midst of the crisis that the country is experiencing, reports Caraota Digital.

González pointed out that adolescent pregnancy is one of the causes of poverty in the region. In this sense, she asserted that the high figures in this section can generate severe consequences.

"It implies a structural reproduction of poverty, which is very serious, and has effects on the present and the future of the country," explained the specialist, who warned that there is an "absolute absence" of sexual education.
🇺🇸🇲🇽A 'narco-apology The message of a poster after the death of two Americans

Five men with their hands tied were found on the streets of Matamoros, in the state of Tamaulipas, next to an alleged apology message from the Gulf cartel for the kidnapping of four US citizens on March 3.

Although the Mexican and US authorities have not verified the authenticity of the message, local media assure that it is an apology from this criminal group.

Even a Mexican official close to the case and consulted by CNN believes that the letter is reliable.

🗨 "[The Gulf cartel] apologizes to the Matamoros society, to the relatives of Mrs. Areli, and to the affected American individuals and families," read the message, written on a sheet of paper.
