Venezuela and Curaçao, an island of the Netherlands in the Caribbean Sea, agreed on Thursday to reopen the air and sea borders, closed since February 2019, on April 3, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil reported.
"The Bolivarian Government welcomes the reopening of the maritime and air borders with the island of Curaçao on April 3, 2023. A decision that contributes to economic development, social interaction and the strengthening of our historical ties," he said

The United States assumed temporary control of the Venezuelan Embassy in its territory after the dissolution of the "interim government" headed by the Venezuelan opponent Juan Guaidó, whom Washington recognized as the legitimate president of the Latin American country.
A State Department spokeswoman confirmed that on Monday, February 6, the US authorities assumed "temporary custody of the diplomatic property of Venezuela in the United States."
The Government of Joe Biden made this decision based on the Foreign Missions Act and the Vienna Convention, which requires it to "respect and protect" the facilities of suspended diplomatic missions, the spokeswoman added.

The Biden Administration suggested a mention of support from US President Joe Biden for Brazil's entry into the OECD in a joint statement.
However, the proposal was rejected by the Brazilian Government and reinforced the already observed idea that said organization is not a priority for the current Administration.
On February 10, a meeting took place at the White House between the Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and his US counterpart, Joe Biden.
A part of the text of the joint declaration that they gave was vetoed from entering the declaration of Brazil.
The lines included a suggestion from the Americans that the text contain Biden's support for the efforts made by the Brazilian government to enter the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Ecuador's state oil company Petroecuador said on Saturday that it loses some 3,500 barrels of oil per day in two blocks in the Amazon due to "repeated acts of vandalism" that are attributed to members of the Waorani community in the Amazon province of Orellana.
According to the text, the natives closed a valve in the pipeline that interrupted the pumping of crude oil and then entered the platform, causing a power outage that affected the wells.
