The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) has launched an emergency fundraising campaign to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela, including members of the country’s Armenian community.

The twin earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, struck within a minute of each other near Venezuela’s Caribbean coast, causing widespread destruction, the collapse of buildings, and significant damage to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. Authorities declared a nationwide state of emergency as rescue teams continue searching for survivors, with casualties reported, thousands displaced, and fears that the death toll could continue to rise.

In a statement, the ARS said its global family stands in solidarity with all those impacted by the disaster and called on supporters to contribute to relief efforts.

“The Armenian Relief Society is collecting donations to assist with much-needed humanitarian aid. Every contribution will help bring hope and relief to those impacted,” the organization stated.
