I had a telephone conversation with His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, to whom I conveyed our solidarity in the face of the serious situation of instability and violence that has erupted in the Middle East, which has placed the entire region on the brink of a dangerous escalation of war.

I reaffirmed our firm conviction that only dialogue and diplomacy can pave the way to peace, and expressed our wishes for negotiations to be resumed immediately and urgently, in strict adherence to the principles of sovereignty, independence, and the values enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

Likewise, I conveyed my condolences and deep concern about the loss of civilian lives in the entire region due to the ongoing conflict, reiterating our call for respect for international law and the preservation of peace.
