FYI: It's important to add that TECHNICALLY they didn't enter venezuelan SOVEREIGN airspace.

The Convention of International Civic Aviation of 1944 in its second article states that "... the territory of a State shall be deemed to be the land areas and territorial waters adjacent thereto under the sovereignty, suzerainty, protection or mandate of such State".

Those territorial waters according to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) are just 12 nautical miles deep the open sea. Which are reflected om this map.
