Delcy Rodríguez calls on the oil industry to stay alert against a "foreign threat"

The executive vice president and Minister of Hydrocarbons of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, issued a strong message to oil sector workers, urging them to stay "very alert" against what the government considers an assault on its natural resources.

In a video from the Petrocedeño headquarters in Anzoátegui, she urged the industry to protect the country's energy wealth with firmness, denouncing that the US aeronaval deployment in the Caribbean seeks to appropriate those resources.

Rodríguez assured that Venezuela will not allow its sovereignty to be betrayed and defined the moment as "the hour of the brave men and women". She made a clear call to those working in the sector, whether in the state oil company or in the petrochemical company Pequiven, to take an active role in national defense, stressing that the dispute over energy control does not admit postponements.

Argentina demands the release of Nahuel Gallo after a year of kidnapping and forced disappearance in Venezuela

Upon the completion of one year of the detention in Venezuela of the Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, the Government of President Javier Milei issued a joint statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Security in which it expressed its "strong rejection" of what it described as an unjust and incompatible act with international law.

The official text points out that Gallo, a first corporal of the National Gendarmerie, remains detained in Venezuela without judicial guarantees or access to his relatives, which constitutes an arbitrary and unjustified detention and a clear case of forced disappearance.

Argentina recalled that it has repeatedly denounced this situation in various international forums and that it has coordinated multiple diplomatic efforts to secure his release. The case has been submitted to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), requesting urgent precautionary measures; to the International Criminal Court (ICC), for arbitrary detention and forced disappearance; and to the UN Human Rights Council, for constituting a flagrant violation of Gallo's human rights.
