🇪🇸🇻🇪 Exiled opposition members in Spain request government protection during public events

Former metropolitan mayor of Caracas, Antonio Ledezma, and lawyer Tomás Arias went this Thursday to the Spanish Ministry of the Interior to denounce the “threats” from ruling party leader Diosdado Cabello against Venezuelan opposition members in exile. Both requested personal protection from the Spanish government during public events in which political refugees participate.

According to the complaint filed, Cabello allegedly threatened attacks against opposition leaders in Colombia, Panama, and Spain during his program "Con El Mazo Dando." The signatories warned that the harassment by Nicolás Maduro's government "extends beyond Venezuelan borders" and alerted about the presence of groups that monitor or infiltrate meetings and demonstrations.
