The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimated that average inflation in Latin America will reach 7.2% in 2025, while the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) warned that Venezuela will close the year with 275%, one of the highest figures worldwide. 🇨🇴🇻🇪 Cabello: "The attacks against Colombia are the same attacks on Venezuela"

Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello supported Colombian President Gustavo Petro following Donald Trump's accusations, stating that "the attacks on the people of Colombia are also attacks on the people of Venezuela." From his program Con el Mazo Dando, he affirmed that imperialism "has no friends, only interests" and criticized regional governments that — according to him — "ignore the aggressions against Venezuela and Colombia."

Cabello also accused the United States of using the "regime change" discourse to justify its actions in the region and referred to Cardinal Baltazar Porras, whom he accused of wanting to "sabotage" the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández by seeking protagonism from the Vatican.

🇨🇴🇻🇪 Colombia is willing to grant political asylum to María Corina Machado "if she so requests"

Colombian Foreign Minister Rosa Villavicencio stated that her country would grant political asylum to Venezuelan opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado, "if she so requests." In an interview with *El País*, she highlighted that President Gustavo Petro "has been very clear about the vision we have on human mobility and refuge," assuring that asylum is a right contemplated in international conventions.

Villavicencio reiterated that Colombia does not recognize the results of the 2024 Venezuelan presidential elections and commented that Nicolás Maduro's government "has not followed the procedures of an election." However, she defended maintaining institutional relations for humanitarian and border reasons, while advocating for a "democratic solution without external interference" to the Venezuelan crisis.
🇻🇪🇷🇺🇨🇳"Thanks to Russia and China, Venezuela has equipment to guarantee peace"

He assured that during the 10 weeks the United States has been deployed in the Caribbean to fight drug trafficking, the country maintains "serenity and tranquility by doing the work and fulfilling our duties."
