Rodríguez announces reform of the political parties law to prevent “fascists” from competing in elections

The president of the legislature, Jorge Rodríguez, announced an upcoming reform of the Law on Political Parties, Public Meetings and Demonstrations, aimed at preventing "fascists," referring to opposition leaders, from running for elected office in Venezuela, in connection with the parliamentary and regional elections to be held in 2025.

Among the “fascists,” Rodriguez included those who call for coups, foreign invasions and the commission of crimes such as political assassinations, as well as those who do not abide by the TSJ ruling that validates the election results of July 28.
🇦🇷🇨🇷🇨🇱🇪🇨🇺🇸🇬🇹🇵🇦🇵🇾🇵🇪🇩🇴🇺🇾🇻🇪🇻🇪 — In a joint statement, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay reject the announcement by the Venezuelan Supreme Court that awarded victory in the country's elections to Nicolás Maduro. See the full statement:

"The Governments of Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay categorically reject the announcement by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela, which yesterday claimed to have concluded a supposed verification of the results of the July 28 electoral process, issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE), and attempts to validate the baseless results issued by the electoral body.

Our countries had already expressed their rejection of the CNE's declaration, following the denial of access to opposition representatives to the official count, the non-publication of the voting records, and the subsequent refusal to conduct an impartial and independent audit of all of them.

The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela warned of the lack of independence and impartiality of both institutions, the CNE and the TSJ.

The undersigned countries reiterate that only an impartial and independent audit of the votes, which assesses all the records, will ensure respect for the sovereign popular will and democracy in Venezuela.

Along with the rest of the international democratic community, we will continue to insist on respect for the sovereign expression of the Venezuelan people, who on July 28 spoke out peacefully and decisively.

Likewise, we express our deep concern and rejection of the human rights violations committed against citizens who peacefully demand respect for the people's vote and the restoration of democracy."

On Friday, August 23, the government of Nicolás Maduro accused the 11 American countries whose governments do not recognize the electoral victory of the official candidate for reelection in the presidential elections of July 28, which, although ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), continues to be questioned by a large part of the international community, of being violent accomplices.

🇨🇴🇧🇷Lula and Petro warn that the “credibility” of the June 28 result depends on the publication of “disaggregated and verifiable data”

The presidents of Brazil and Colombia, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Gustavo Petro, insisted this Saturday on the need to disseminate the electoral records "broken down by voting table", after the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) validated the alleged victory of Nicolás Maduro.

“Both presidents remain convinced that the credibility of the electoral process can only be restored through the transparent publication of disaggregated and verifiable data,” the joint statement said.
María Corina Machado calls for people to take to the streets on August 28, one month after the presidential election.

🇻🇪🇻🇪👤📺 The Venezuelan regime has turned the conflict between Nicolás Maduro and Elon Musk into the theme of an episode of "Súper Bigote" (Super Mustache), an animated series produced by state TV for propaganda and child indoctrination purposes.

💬 The superhero in the series is based on Maduro and shares his characteristic mustache. With a cape, worker's helmet, and iron fist, he "fights the American empire and other enemies, including opposition members."

⁉️ In a recently released episode, Super Bigote's enemy is Musk, depicted as the Devil—he has hair shaped like horns, long nails, and sits in an office chair with a pentagram on it. He also wears an armband resembling that of the Nazis, but with the logo of the social network he owns.

💥 Súper Bigote responds by saying that in this context, he is "David against Goliath," a reference to the biblical story of David, the small and brave defender of his people, who defeated a much larger and more powerful adversary, the giant Goliath.
