The candidate Edmundo González and the leader María Corina Machado gave a press conference.
This is what González said:
“We call on witnesses to remain in the centers until they receive the minutes corresponding to the results of the polling station, in accordance with the provisions of article 337 and page 7 of the polling station manual.”
“We reiterate to all citizens that they have the right to participate in a citizen verification of these processes.”
This is what Machado said:
“This hour has arrived, which is the crucial stage. We want to ask all Venezuelans to stay at their voting center. Let them be in community.”
“We have fought all these years for this day. These are the crucial minutes, the decisive hours.”
“We need all Venezuelans to be at their voting centers.”
“We are already receiving minutes. And we are totaling them one by one. (…) we proceed to count slips of paper by slips of paper. Your citizen has the right to be there.”
