Ramón Jesurún, the head of Colombia's soccer governing body, was arrested amid the chaos at the Copa América soccer tournament in Miami Gardens, according to Miami-Dade jail records and a Colombian media report.

Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation and vice president of Conmebol, the group that organizes the Copa América, faces three counts of assault against a specific official or employee.

The problem arose at the end of the game, when the president of the FCF, his son and other family members were preparing to enter the field of play to participate in the award ceremonies after the final.

According to the arrest report, Jesurún and his son, Ramón Jamil Jesurún, 43, are accused of fighting with several security guards who were holding people back from a tunnel where the media was gathering around 12:20 a.m. Monday, after the game ended.

Hours later, a video was released in which Jesurún was seen in a fight with the stadium's logistics staff. The dispute apparently arose because he was not allowed access to an elevator, unlike his Argentine counterparts.
