La Fed mantiene los tipos sin cambios, justo como esperaba el mercado. La decisión era el trámite. El mensaje es lo que importa: 3 miembros del FOMC votaron a favor de subir tipos, una señal clara de que la inflación sigue sobre la mesa.

El primer movimiento suele ser ruido. El movimiento real llega cuando el mercado recalibra las expectativas para las próximas reuniones. Los titulares los lee todo el mundo, pero las expectativas son las que mueven miles de millones. 👀

The Fed held rates unchanged, exactly as the market expected. The decision was just the formality. The message is what matters: 3 FOMC members voted for a rate hike, a clear sign that inflation is still very much on the table.

The first move is usually noise. The real move comes when the market recalibrates expectations for upcoming meetings. Everyone reads the headlines, but expectations are what move billions. 👀

🇪🇸 El discurso del nuevo presidente de la FED ha sido claramente dovish.

Parece alguien muy favorable a los mercados y, de cara a los inversores, una elección sólida. También da la sensación de entender que la guerra y el petróleo tienen un impacto enorme, y que subir o bajar tipos poco puede hacer frente al efecto que eso puede generar.

Las probabilidades de subida de tipos en septiembre han pasado de 90% a cerca del 50%. Movimiento bastante salvaje.

Mañana tendremos datos de PCE y otras referencias importantes. Serán útiles para medir cómo está realmente la inflación en Estados Unidos. 👀

🇬🇧 The new Fed chair's speech was clearly dovish.

He looks very market-friendly and, from an investor perspective, like a solid pick. He also seems to understand that war and oil have a major impact, and that hiking or cutting rates will do little to offset the effects they can create.

September hike odds have gone from 90% to roughly 50%. Pretty wild repricing.

Tomorrow we get PCE and other key data points. They should give us a clearer read on where US inflation really stands. 👀
