Yesterday and today, the Russian army struck the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians found themselves in the dark – without electricity. Houses, hospitals, schools, communal infrastructure... Russian missiles hit precisely those objects that have absolutely nothing to do with the infrastructure of the Armed Forces of our country.

This is a sign of the desperation of those who invented this war. This is how they react to the defeat of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region. They can't do anything to our heroes on the battlefield, and that's why Russia is directing its vile strikes against civilian infrastructure.

To protect against this, we must further strengthen our cooperation – everyone in the free world. Together we can overcome Russian terror. Russia must be designated a terrorist state. Strengthen sanctions – the eighth EU sanctions package is needed. It is necessary to increase aid to Ukraine, first of all to speed up the provision of air defense systems to our country.

During a conversation with Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi, we discussed the developments at the front. Defense cooperation with Italy is important for Ukraine. We should enhance it. We also discussed the situation at the ZNPP. Demilitarization and return under the control of Ukraine is a guarantee of the safety of the plant.

Перший, але дуже важливий крок щодо майбутніх гарантій безпеки для України зроблено. Андрій Єрмак і колишній Генеральний секретар НАТО Андерс Фог Расмуссен під час нашої зустрічі представили напрацьовані рекомендації, які мають стати основою Київського безпекового договору (Kyiv Security Compact).

Дякую Міжнародній робочій групі Єрмака-Расмуссена за підготовку цього пакету пропозицій. Необхідно, щоб вона продовжила свою роботу та довела цей проект до кінця.

The first yet crucially important step towards future security guarantees for Ukraine has been taken. During our meeting, Andriy Yermak and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen presented the elaborated recommendations, which should become the basis of the Kyiv Security Compact.

I am thankful to the Yermak-Rasmussen International Working Group for drafting this package of proposals. It is necessary that the Group continues its work and completes the project.

Denmark and Estonia strongly support Ukraine at all stages of our struggle against Russian aggression. In particular, by supplying the much-needed weapons for the de-occupation of our territories. Станом на цей час стабілізаційні заходи завершено в районах загальною площею понад 4 тисячі квадратних кілометрів, ще приблизно на такій же звільненій території стабілізація триває. Виявляють залишки окупаційних військ, диверсійних груп, затримують колаборантів, повертають повну безпеку.

Дуже важливо, що разом з нашими військами, з нашим прапором на деокуповану територію заходить і звичайне нормальне життя.

Як приклад – у Балаклії, у Граковому вже почалася видача пенсій одразу за п’ять місяців. За той час, коли ми просто не могли здійснити виплати через окупацію. І всі українські пенсіонери на звільненій території отримають виплати. Україна завжди виконує свої соціальні зобов’язання перед людьми.

As of now, stabilization measures have been completed in the districts with a total area of more than 4,000 square kilometers. Stabilization continues in the liberated territory of  approximately the same size. Remnants of occupiers and sabotage groups are being detected, collaborators are being detained and full security is being restored.

It is very important that together with our troops, with our flag, ordinary normal life comes to the de-occupied territory.

As an example, in Balakliya, in Hrakove, the payment of pensions for five months at once, for the time when we simply could not make payments due to the occupation, has already been started. And all Ukrainian pensioners in the liberated territory will receive payments. Ukraine always fulfills its social obligations to people.
