The IDF announced that its operation in Iran, dubbed “Lion’s Courage,” is a focused and precise mission aimed at crippling the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program and long-range missile capabilities.
“Israeli Air Force jets are now conducting strikes across Iran,” the IDF stated. “We are in full coordination with the U.S. and maintaining strong cooperation. This strike is necessary due to Iran’s recent rapid progress toward nuclear weapons — they are just days away, if they choose, from producing enough fissile material for 15 nuclear bombs. In recent months, Iran has secretly tested nuclear weapon assembly. Additionally, Iran possesses thousands of ballistic missiles and plans to triple that number within a year — an existential threat to Israel even without nuclear warheads, which we will target directly.”

The IDF spokesman announced changes in the Home Front Command's defensive policy. "Following a situation assessment, it was decided that starting today (Friday) at 3:00 AM, an immediate change will take effect in the Home Front Command's defensive policy. As part of the changes, it was decided that all areas of the country will transition from full activity status to essential activity only. The guidelines include prohibition of educational activities, gatherings and workplaces, except for essential services. Continue to follow the instructions published by the Home Front Command through official channels. Complete guidelines will be updated on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app," the statement said.

Israeli estimates: War with Iran will last at least two weeks
Israel estimates that the fighting against Iran will last at least two weeks. The US will assist in defense and may join in the continued attacks, with it expected to expand its efforts in the region in the next 24 hours. According to security sources, the recent statements between the US and Israel were coordinated, also to "put the Iranians to sleep," and the Americans are expected to join the attacks if the initial results of the Israeli move are successful.

A security source told Reuters that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is alive and receiving regular updates on the situation.
