Here are some talking points to go along with the video and document. I would break them up into two communications with them.
*The session is nearly here. This is an important time to review basic Constitutional principles. Please watch this video on the balance the Constitution intended between the state and federal governments.
*Utah Citizens for the Constitution is creating Impact Councils throughout the state. Our primary focus is Utah sovereignty and the protection of individual liberties. Please read these guiding principles.
*I am very concerned about the erosion of Utah sovereignty. Please watch this video on federalism and let me know what ideas you have to strengthen Utah sovereignty during this session.
*Many citizens have come together out of concern for our weakened liberties as the federal government continues to boldly usurp power that it was never intended to have.
Please look at this.........
I hope the above talking points are helpful as you communicate with your reps. This is a crucial time to set expectations and let our reps know we are in this fight with them.

From Jen Brown. On the Zoom call on Monday we talked about different bills in the Legislative session. I will list a summary. Just for your information SB means senate bill and it originates in the senate; HB means house bill and it originates in the house.
HB 179 Founders Bill, Rep Stratton, It designates September as Founder's month and is a time for American history and the Constitution to be taught in the schools.
HB 131 Rep Brooks, It prohibits vaccine passports.
HB 171 Rep Hall, Repeals pilot program for rank choice voting.
FYI Rank choice voting is where you number each candidate in your preference order. RCV makes audits very difficult.
HB 155 Rep Lyman, Requires independent Election Audits.
HB 176 Allows alternative voting methods, like rank choice voting.
HB 215 Rep Pieruccu, This bill is being called the school choice bill. It will allow parents to use state funds at private schools.
HB 228 Rep Petersen, This bill prohibits conversion therapy on minors and clarifies that verbal or written communication is not conversion therapy. This bill will allow minors with gender dysphoria to receive verbal therapy.
HB 132 Rep Shipp This bill prohibits puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones from being given to minors.
SB16 Senator Kennedy, This bill prohibits sex change surgeries on minors and puts in place a moratorium that prohibits the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in minors while a study is being conducted by the department of health and human services to analyze the effects of these drugs. Minors already on these drugs can continue with them.
SB 100 Senator Weiler, This bill prohibits schools from altering school records of a child with regard to gender without written parental consent.
The bill that will partially repeal SB 54 has not been numbered yet.
SB 31 Changes Utah flag.

*Tell your reps why you feel medical freedom is part of individual liberty and how you feel about vaccine coercion.
This relates to HB131 Vaccine Passport Prohibition.
*Remind your reps that their primary responsibility is the protection of your individual liberties. Share your thoughts on why it is important to you for Utah to push back against the federal government's unconstitutional acts. This relates to HB253 which allows the federal commission to refer unconstitutional acts to interim committees. Our organization strongly supports this bill.
* Tell your reps how you feel about the quality of education in Utah schools in regard to the Constitution and American history. This relates to HB179 Founder's Month, which designates September as a month where Utah can focus on American history and Constitutional principles.
* Express your thoughts about freedom of speech. Have you ever felt that your voice was silenced? This relates to HB 21 which requires an opportunity for public comment at public meetings. Hb21 is positive for freedom of speech.
*Share your thoughts about the transgender movement and the protection of youth from drugs and procedures that alter a body's natural development. There are several transgender bills this session.

I made a list of some of the important bills this session for us to discuss.
Hopefully other Impact Councils will be able to meet in person with their reps. Face to face definitely makes an Impact.
