Jeffery Xiong 🇺🇸 was the first player to go through to the Round 2 of #FIDEWorldCup. He defeated Igor Lysyi 🇷🇺 2-0.

Before the tournament, he spent a few days in Moscow to fix the jetlag problem, and came to Khanty-Mansiysk with his father.

After 132 moves Ghaem does it, forcing tiebreaks tomorrow against Yu Yangyi!

Most of the second round participants were determined at the FIDE World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk. 23 matches will continue on tiebreaks tomorrow.
