The person standing next to Kasparov is Vladimir Dvorkovich, a famous arbiter and organizer, and father of the incumbent FIDE President. Vladimir Dvorkovich was part of Kasparov’s team for quite a few years. I got to met him in Linares, many years after this photo was taken.

1967 began for Spassky with a victory at Beverwijk. Larsen did not play very well. He also lost this game ... But at the end of the year, the loser was recognized as the best!
