Sunway Sitges Chess Festival Underway

The sixth edition of the #SunwaySitges chess festival is underway in Sitges, Spain. After just three rounds into the tournament, top seeds Vassily Ivanchuk and Parham Maghsoodloo are no longer on a perfect score:

Halfway through the #SunwaySitges open with Anton Korobov 2668 and Narayanan.S.L 2626 leading thanks to their victories over Praggnanandhaa and Sasikiran in the 5th round.

The two leaders face off against each other today.

Ucranian Grandmasters' duel at #SunwaySitges round 7's first board finished in a draw, with Chuky trying hard to earn a full point... It couldn't have been better characterized!

Could there be a better couple of commentators for #SunwaySitges than Anna Rudolf and Daniel King? We're glad to have them here, and we hope everyone's enjoying them as much as we are! (besides that, we get the bonus, which is to see how nice they are away from cameras too!)

9th round finished at #SunwaySitges and we have already some norms for some players but, probably, Hans Niemann is the player of the day, after crossing 2500 with his win over GM Sebastien Mazé and officially becoming a FIDE_chess GM today. Congratulations!
