FIDE regrets to inform that GM Ding Liren will be unable to play in the second leg of the FIDE Grand Prix, to be held in Belgrade from February 28 to March 14. Despite the will and the efforts from both parties, there are insurmountable obstacles that prevent him from playing.

Ding Liren's chances of qualifying for the Candidates Tournament look to have gone completely, since he's unable to play the 2nd #FIDEGrandPrix. Dmitry Andreikin, who had to pull out of the 1st after a positive test, now gets the chance to play
Congratulations to Wesley So for winning the third leg of the #FIDEGrandPrix, and to Hikaru Nakamura for winning the overall Grand Prix series!
