π¦ FRED ZINK IS A LEGEND OF AMERICAN HUNTING πΊπΈ
Fred Zink is a famous American waterfowl hunter, entrepreneur and developer of hunting equipment.
Since childhood, he was engaged in hunting and making stuffed animals, and at the age of 18 he won the Ohio Goosebage Championship.
Later, Zink founded Zink Calls and Avian-X, creating his own manka and stuffed animal systems for hunting ducks and geese. He also became the host of hunting TV programs.
π― His approach is simple: to know the bird, to choose the right place and to understand its behavior. For him, success begins with intelligence, not with the amount of equipment.
πΊπΈ Fred Zink is an example of how the passion for hunting turned into a profession and a whole industry.

π¦πΊπΈ USA WATERFOWL SEASON 2026β27: THE SEASON IS UNDERWAY
The first regular duck seasons are opening across the northern states. In the Great Lakes region, hunters are already seeing pintails, wigeon, teal and shovelers, while migration is building across the Central Flyway.
π But there is a concern: the 2026 breeding survey estimated 33.4 million ducks, roughly similar to 2025. Mallard numbers fell to about 5.9 million β 11% below 2025 and 26% below the long-term average, the lowest estimate since 1993.
π Opening dates vary by state and zone. Michiganβs North Zone opened on September 26, while its Middle Zone opens October 3, with other states following later.
π¦οΈ Weather will be critical. Cold fronts and changing conditions farther north will determine when major migration waves reach hunting areas.
π¦ Federal management is also changing: USFWS has streamlined the process for setting migratory bird seasons while continuing to use annual biological data to establish hunting frameworks.
