The best solution of all has emerged. Last night DJT told General Flynn that he would be willing to serve as House Speaker. That is a far better solution than a Kevin McCarthy under any circumstances.

DEMs want McCarthy, but they can't be seen voting for him...
Rumor is some of them will not show up tonight... lowering the number of votes McCarthy needs to become speaker.
That would lock McCarthy in, and avoid any possibility of Trump as Speaker.

I just realized that Elon Musk posted that picture of the Durham Boat next to his bedside, told the world to vote Republican for the House, said he wanted McCarthy for speaker and now McCarthy is talking about the Durham Boat in his opening speech.

SCOTUS is reconsidering their decision to pass over this case, and on 2/17 they will decide if this case gets a hearing. 4 of 9 justices must agree for a hearing to be granted.

I admit I didn't think the Brunson case had legs, but I will gladly EAT CROW if I turn out to be wrong!
