Drugs could be “beamed” straight into specific body parts using ultrasound, new study suggest
Drugs could be released into the body exactly where they are needed using a highly targeted ultrasound beam, according to new research that could revolutionise the way medications are administered.
Current methods of administering drugs - whether it's swallowed, injected, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin - mean that it ultimately diffuses to most parts of the body, including those where it isn't needed or could even cause harm.
It's hoped that targeting the drug to exactly the right spot would allow the total dose needed to be dramatically lower, minimising adverse side effects.
The futuristic new technology works by encasing the medication in nanocarriers - microscopic droplets, between 470 and 550 nanometers across, with a hollow outer shell composed of polymer molecules.
When injected into the body, the nanocarriers act as a protective layer around the medication which forms a barrier against the immune system.
Then, an ultrasound beam which can be steered across three dimensions is focused on a desired area within the body that is only a few millimeters across.
The drug then diffuses out to the organs, tissues or cells where it is required.

The U.S. state of Kansas on Monday sued Pfizer, accusing the company of misleading the public about its COVID-19 vaccine by hiding risks while making false claims about its effectiveness.
In a lawsuit, filed in the District Court of Thomas County, the state said the New York-based drugmaker's alleged false statements violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. It is seeking unspecified money damages.
"Pfizer made multiple misleading statements to deceive the public about its vaccine at a time when Americans needed the truth," Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, a Republican, said in a statement....Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a similar lawsuit against Pfizer last year, which remains pending. Pfizer has also called that case meritless.
Kobach said on Monday that other states had been collaborating with Kansas in its investigation and are expected to file lawsuits as well.

This tick has been on display for us to show people for a while. After months in a sealed container without any additional feeding, she laid eggs. 1. Avoid light olive oil- Its highly refined heated to high temperatures. Olive oil has 0 trans fats. If there are trans fats listed on your label, that bottle has been cut with canola oil or some other nasty oil with trans fats.
2. Avoid olive oil in a clear bottle . Light is the enemy of olive oil. Olive oil is sensitive to light and heat and will oxidize and go rancid much faster . So look for olive oil in a dark bottle, preferably glass.
3. When buying oil oil, buy extra virgin olive oil , cold pressed, and organic. It doesn’t guarantee it’s 100 percent but it will help.
4. Look for a harvest date or a lot number to make sure it is pure . You want to consume it no more than 3 years from the date.

(Reuters) -Pfizer said on Tuesday Chief Scientific Officer Mikael Dolsten, a key figure behind the development of its COVID-19 vaccine, would step down after a more than 15-year career at the drugmaker.
Dolsten, aged 65, served as the head of Pfizer's research and development after he joined the company through its $68 billion acquisition of Wyeth in 2009. He became the company's chief scientist in 2010.
