I’ve noticed that some of my students, who just started to work in physics, have troubles reading the formulas. Ideally, when you read a textbook, you should be able to get all information just gazing at the formulas. First, you should know your notation. For example, above you see a bracket notation which is used in QM a lot. Ket on the right is just an initial state, bra on the left is the final state. Together bra +ket = bracket. Simple? The middle part is just an expression for a free particle. Together the whole formula reads: the amplitude of a free particle propagating from x0 to x. From now, you should read all formulas you see in words. Once you manage that, you won’t need to read text at all #Advice
