О некоторых из таких эпизодов они будут вспоминать с большим теплом годы спустя. Но это означает и другую вещь: если персонаж игрока оказывается в травматичной ситуации, то это может стать разрушительным опытом для самого игрока. Сексуальное насилие на игровой сессии, остается воображаемым, но чувства ужаса, незащищенности, стыда и гнева, которые испытывает в это время игрок, являются вполне настоящими. И эти чувства тоже могут остаться с ним на долгие годы».

По словам исследователей из канадского университета Макгилла, за 12 часов они получили в пять раз больше данных для анализа, чем за 10 лет смог накопить их предыдущий опыт геймификации — Phylo.

Всего за первый месяц Borderlands Science игроки решили более 36 миллионов головоломок. Суммарно они провели в разгадывании пазлов более 86 лет.

Исследователи также поделились планами — проект будет поддерживаться, и в ближайшее время в Borderlands 3 появятся новые, более сложные головоломки».

The PLEX for GOOD collection for COVID-19 has been an incredible success, resulting in one of the largest amounts collected by EVE Capsuleers for any good cause to date! The collection period came to an end on 11 June at 11:00 UTC, with the EVE community raising a staggering $135,550!

Endorsed by the President of Iceland and contributed to by many many Capsuleers, the funds from this PLEX for GOOD collection will be going to the World Health Organization COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security (CHS).

As one initiative ends, another popular campaign returns for its third installment; it's time for Project Discovery again! You are invited to join the growing ranks of Capsuleers who have contributed to real world science through a mini-game within EVE Online, the results of which will assist in the understanding of how our bodies react to pathogens.

The newest iteration of Project Discovery allows you to analyze data produced by flow cytometers. Using a tracing tool, you will draw polygons around clusters of cells. In doing so, you will participate in analyzing COVID-19 data, as well as other related flow cytometry charts, which will help scientists understand better how our immune systems are impacted by this novel coronavirus.

Specifically, you will be demarcating different cell populations present in blood. That data will provide information about how infections and other factors impact immune systems. Your polygons aid scientists in understanding how different cell populations and types are altered through infection.

The demo will offer you a unique playing mode – the Dream-Quest.

You summon Nyarlathotep to pass a trial for the Great Game. The Crawling Chaos plunges you into a dream indistinguishable from reality: you find yourself in a small provincial town. Apart from you, there are five other players; you search for ingredients and perform rituals as you will in the upcoming October. But in the Dream Quest mode, you only have 15 nights until the moon dies. During this time, you need to figure out who is in your team and who is in the enemy team. Only by choosing the right allies, you can prove yourself worthy to participate in the Halloween full moon ritual and wake up.

Use the deduction board correctly, draw your conclusions from shared events involving other players, and, most importantly, perform rituals, invoke Lovecraftian gods (or their dream avatars) and get hints from them.

The demo will feature only three characters (The Werewolf, The Mad Monk, and Madame Mandilip with her dolls) and three familiars (the guide dog, the pathfinder cat, and the wise owl).”

Since June 2020, Project Discovery participants have contributed to a major real-life scientific program that aims to understand the immune system’s response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In partnership with teams at McGill University, BC Cancer and front-line COVID-19 clinicians such as Dr Andrea Cossarizza (Professor of Immunology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia School of Medicine in Italy), players have been marking cell populations on graphs which help scientists further understand how COVID-19 specifically affects blood cells. With over 115 million submissions made in the past year, players have helped to produce data that would not exist without the efforts of EVE’s dedicated global community.
