🌟 YAUM AL ARAFAH - 9th Dhul-Hijjah REMINDERS 🌟

PART 7⃣ - LAST PART

➡️ "THE BLESSED DAY OF ARAFAH"

Today in sha Allaah in Makkah al-Mukarramah

Allaah [Blessed and Exalted be He] Swears by the Day of ‘Arafah

1. By the sky full of constellations,

2. And the promised Day of Ressurection,

3. And [by] the witness and what is witnessed...

[Surah al-Burūj, Āyāt 1-3]

➡️The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the Day of Arafah, and the witnessing day is Day of Friday.”

[Saheeh al-Jāmi' 8201 | Shaykh al-Albāni رحمه الله | Saheeh]

💡Why is the Day of ‘Arafah given this name?

➡️Al-Imām ibn al-Jawzi [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

1️⃣ One of the two reasons is:

It was given this name because [Angel] Jibreel [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم] showed [Prophet] Ibrāheem [عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم] the rites [of Hajj] and then would say ‘do you now know [i.e. understand].’”

2️⃣ The second reason [why it is given this name is]

“Ādam and Hawā [عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَم] reaquainted [after being expelled from Heaven] there [i.e. at Mount ‘Arafah].”

📚
Kashf ul-Mushkil, 2/156 | Al-Imām ibn al-Jawzi [may Allāh have mercy on him]

🎓Dr. Saleh as-Saleh حفظه الله commented about the Day of Arafah:

"The standing on the Arafaat is the Hajj."

The crowds should remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to Allaah, manifest your ‘uboodiyyah to Him Alone through du’aa, sincere intention and strong determination to free yourself from the sins of the past and to build up a commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you gain on this day.

🌟 SOME FEW IMPORTANT RULINGS CONCERNING EID🌟

1⃣ The Takbeer:
The Takbeer is legislated from the dawn of the day of Arafah and during the Ayyaam At-Tashreeq (i.e. 11th to 13th Dhul Hijjah) to Asr time on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.
Allaah (The Most High) said:
[وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْدُودَاتٍ ]—
”And remember Allah during the appointed Days.” [Soorah Baqarah: 203].

🔹 It is prescribed for the men to raise their voices with the Takbeer in the Masaajid, the houses and after the five daily obligatory prayers. This is done to exalt Allaah and to manifest singling Him out in worship and thanking Him.

2⃣ Bath on the day of Eid:
One takes a bath and only men are to wear perfume. The men should also wear their best clothes but neither going into extravagance nor dragging their garments below their ankles and shaving their beards.

3⃣ Eating From the Eid Sacrifice:
One eats from the Eid sacrifice, because the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) did not use to eat until he returned from the Musalla and ate from the Eed sacrifice. [Zaadul Ma-aad: 1/441]

4⃣ Walking to the Musalla (i.e. place of prayer):
One walks to Musalla if that is easy. The Sunnah is to pray Eid in the Musalla except if there is an excuse not to do so, such as rain etc. It is also recommended to stay for the Eed khutbah and to supplicate for the Muslims. Likewise, one takes a different road whilst returning from the Eid prayer, because this was an action of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).

5️⃣ Eid Prayer Time:

▶️ It begins AFTER SUNRISE due to the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn Busr; reported by Abu Dawood (1135) and collected in Sahih Al-Musnad (557) by Imam (Muqbil) Al-Wadi’i rahimahullah.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Busr رضي الله عنه:
Yazid ibn Khumayr ar-Rahbi said: Abdullah ibn Busr رضي الله عنه, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out along with the people on the day of the breaking of the fast or on the day of sacrifice (to offer the prayer). He disliked the delay of the imam, and said: We would finish (our 'Id prayer) at this moment, that is, at the time of forenoon.

6️⃣ Eid Greeting:
It is permissible to greet one another after Eid, because this has been established from some of the Sahaabah. Shaikh Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said that there is no particular defined Eid greeting; rather this is left to the people as long as such greeting does not involve sin. Likewise, he (rahimahullaah) said that there is no harm in shaking hands and embracing one another because these are affairs the people have taken as a custom these days and they are not done as acts of worship or as a means of getting close to Allaah.

And Allaah knows best

🎀The Description of The Eid prayer, Number of Rakats and The Eid Takbirs🎀

📚Fataawa Arkaan al-Islam by Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen, p. 398; Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 8/300-316).

➡️The Eid prayer is one where the imam attends and leads the people in praying two rak’ahs. ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The prayer of al-Fitr is two rak’ahs and the prayer of al-Adha is two rak’ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of your Prophet, and the one who fabricates lies is doomed.” Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, 1420 and Ibn Khuzaymah. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i.

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to come out on the day of al-Fitr and al-Adha to the prayer place, and the first thing he would do was to offer the prayer. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 956

🔹In the first rak’ah he should say Takbeerat al-ihraam (say “Allaahu akbar” to start the prayer), after which he should say six or seven more takbeers, because of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), “The takbeer of al-Fitr and al-Adha is seven takbeers in the first rak’ah and five takbeers in the second, apart from the takbeer of rukoo’.” Narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 639.

🔹Then he should recite al-Faatihah, and recite Soorat Qaf in the first rak’ah. In the second rak’ah he should stand up saying takbeer, and when he has stood up completely he should say takbeer five times, and recite Soorat al-Faatihah then Soorat al-Qamr. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite these two soorahs during the two Eids. Or if he wishes he can recite Soorat al-A’la in the first rak’ah and Soorat al-Ghaashiyah in the second, because it was narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite al-A’la and al-Ghaashiyah in the Eid prayer.

ℹ️The imam should revive the Sunnah by reciting these soorahs so that the Muslims will become familiar with the Sunnah.

➡️After the prayer, the imam should address the people. Part of the khutbah should be addressed specifically to the women, telling them of the things that they should do and warning them against the things that they should avoid, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to do.

➡️Al-Fudayl ibn Ayaad -Rahimahullaah- said:

'Whoever missed out standing in Arafat this year, then he should establish Allaah's rights which a person knows.

Whoever was too weak and incapable of spending the night in Muzdalifah, then he should spend the night with the resolve and determination of being obedient to Allaah and with that he comes close and nearer to Allaah.

Whoever does not have the power and ability to stand and pray at the area of Khayf [in Mina], then he should stand for Allaah with fulfilling the right of hope and fear.

Whoever does not have the capability to slaughter his sacrificial animal at Mina, then he should slaughter his whims and desires here and reaches what he aims for.

Whoever cannot reach the House (the Ka’ba) because it is far from him, then he should have the intent of the Lord of the House, since He is closer to the One who calls and has hope in Him, than the jugular vein.'

The Virtue of performing good deeds in the Days of Tashreeq.

Admin’s Note:

"It's indeed more befitting for a believer to increase more in good deeds during the times of happiness.

Every one remembers Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala in hardships but not everyone remembers Him
in festivities.

Let’s be different."

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"The day of ‘Arafah, the day of Sacrifice, and the days of al-Tashriq are our festival, us Muslims, and they are days of eating and drinking.”

Sahih Abi Dawud 2419
ليسَ شيءٌ أكرمَ علَى اللهِ من الدُّعاءِ

There is nothing more noble to Allāh than du'ā.

• صحيح الترمذي (٣٣٧٠)

Frequent du'ā is the highest expression of servitude.

When a person supplicates, they admit inability and dependence upon their Creator, and this humility honours the supplicant. So the more they invoke Allāh, the more dignified and noble they are to Him!

Sincere Repentance

Ibnu Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

When you resolve to repent sincerely and it arises from the depths of your heart, it will burn away the sins you have committed, as if they never even happened. For the one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin.
