Journalist Andrew Jones, writing for Space.com, has compiled a comprehensive overview of all lunar missions scheduled for 2026. Here’s what is planned for the next 12 months:
1️⃣ China’s Chang’e-7 mission (Fig. 2), with a landing near the Moon’s south pole.
Its primary objective is the search for water ice.
2️⃣ Blue Moon Mark-1 lander (Fig. 3).
The mission aims to demonstrate the technological capabilities of Blue Origin’s cargo lunar lander.
3️⃣ Blue Ghost M2 spacecraft (Fig. 4) by Firefly Aerospace.
Its goal is a landing on the far side of the Moon.
4️⃣ European Lunar Pathfinder orbiter (Fig. 5).
It will be launched together with Blue Ghost M2.
