Yesterday, inflation in Canada turned out to be lower than expected at 2.3%, instead of 2.6%. Today at 15:45 CET, the Bank of Canada will announce its decision on the Canadian interest rate. The bank is expected to leave the rate unchanged at 2.75%. However, considering yesterday's much better inflation data, the BoC may decide to cut the rate by 0.25%. The market may react to such a decision with a strong impulse, pushing in one direction. Perhaps it will be an opportunity to use the “straddle” strategy - which involves opening pending orders Buy Stop above and Sell Stop below the consolidation if such appears 1-2 hours before the BoC decision. Imprtant - the consolidation should be narrow , not more than 25-30p
