His baptism of fire took place in the beginning of October 2023, Grim was sleeping with his group in his shelter near the Eastern front of Ukraine, when he woke up in the morning to Shaheed's sound coming to wipe out them from the world. Soon there was an explosion nearby. When the group heard that a plane had also hit the residence of other foreign fighters, Grim went there. When he got there the house was in ruins and on fire. Half of one merc's body was left, the other was missing his head. Four foreigners died that day, but we only identified three: David Lee Cote, Vitalijs Smirnovs and Tanel Kriggul.

Not all Finns in Ukraine have yet been able to experience combat, even if they have the will and abilities. Most of them are hiding in the rear, waging their personal war on the internet.

In 2019, he killed his partner in Colombia and remained on the run until 2021, when he was captured and sent to prison as he was considered a danger to society, but was released due to expiration of terms, after his defense attorney requested it before a judge of guarantees.
He was due to stand trial in June 2023, but fled to Ukraine that same month.

From June through September 2022, he was in Kiev, where he ensured the delivery of ammunition and UAVs to the AFU. In October-November 2022, he was volunteering at the Hope Foundation organization.
In early December 2022, he joined the “International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine”, where he is serving in the “Ninja Squad” of the 3rd platoon of the “Bravo” company of the “Volkodav” battalion.
He was wounded while fleeing from Bakhmut in March 2023.
Since then he's been active collecting donations and begging for money, but never on the front line.
