He served in the Danish Royal Life Guards and is making use of his training there, however I doubt they did much trench sitting in that course.
Bjarti signed up to the AFU on a 3 year contract so seems he doesn't want to return to the blissful world of the Faroe Islands, rather, lay in a ditch somewhere in Ukraine.
