Let's take a step back and look at what happened.
Pump.fun has a “Maythem Mode” feature when creating a token, and it’s enabled by default (you have to uncheck it to disable it). This feature mints 100% of the tokens, meaning 200% of the total supply is in circulation; its purpose is to sell the tokens at a profit (in our case, Pump.fun earned about 9 Sol). This is a completely pointless feature—why mint an extra 100%?
Well, it’s so that pump.fun can make money by dumping the minted tokens under the guise of maintaining volume on the chart.

We apologize to everyone for this mistake; we lost about $2,000 ourselves. As you can see, the dev didn’t even sell a single token.
