The need for this kind of assistance is widespread across the Intuitive Network, whether we're talking about the United States or our groups internationally around the world.
The primary issue for those who are severely affected and isolated is that they are not able to communicate fully, effectively, and consistently without the right kinds of assistance.
People around them don't know how to talk with them or center their needs in respectful ways; and communities, businesses, and organizations often are not educated or trained in ways that help them recognize and respond to these situations.
We've received a very small amount of initial support to hire writing and editing collaborators, so we're beginning to show more what is possible when this effort is funded.
That small amount of initial support is limited, but efforts are underway because of the momentum that gave us.
At the most severely affected intersections, it is mainly the lack of communications support (and consequently the lack of consistent, respect-oriented relationships) that prevents other solutions from being put in place — for many people across populations.
We have a very large number of severely affected disabled individuals and families connected to or associated with the Intuitive Network who need the communications support we've been building in order for them to achieve physical recovery, vocational recovery to restore essential economic participation, and access to social and community spaces and activities.
The Intuitive Network organizes communications support to facilitate combinations of private resource coordination, increased outreach, and public media; all these components crucial to success.
This helps more people and organizations learn about these intersections and how to collaborate fruitfully with one another when circumstances of severe disablement, trauma, and hardship are present.
