At the Bajaur Press Club, a Jirga, a traditional tribal council, convened to address civilian deaths, including three killed yesterday, August 12, 2025, when a mortar shell hit a home in Erab during a military operation against the TTP.
Key decisions:
1️⃣ Immediate FIR registration and arrests for those responsible for the children killed in recent state action.
2️⃣ Military must issue a written statement or hold a press conference confirming FIRs will be filed against any personnel harming civilians.
3️⃣ Ceasefire to continue until written guarantees of safety for lives, property, and population are given.
4️⃣ Immediate restoration of mobile networks across Bajaur.
5️⃣ Immediate lifting of the curfew across the district.
6️⃣ Warning: If demands are unmet, protest camps will be set up outside Scouts and Colony areas.

Security forces apprehended three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) linked to a militant outfit in the Wajhama area of Handwara, Kupwara district, North Kashmir. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Iqbal Pandith, Sajad Ahmad Shah, and Ishfaq Ahmad Malik.
