TTP Releases Video Marking Pakistan’s Independence Day

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), through its Umar Media outlet, has released a video dated 14 August 2026, Pakistan’s Independence Day.

The first half focuses on TTP’s ideological messaging, criticising Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations and portraying activities such as music and dancing as contrary to its interpretation of Islam. The video also attacks the Pakistani military, accusing it of operating for material interests and acting contrary to Islamic principles.

The later portion shifts to footage of TTP militants and attacks attributed to the group, combining its ideological narrative with operational footage.

The release appears intended to use Independence Day as a platform to challenge the legitimacy of the Pakistani state and promote TTP’s insurgent narrative.

🚨Meet Anas Mallick. He works for ISI & MOIB funded Asia One News. He was pretending as NADRA's CNIC Expert to protect LeT Terrorists. He was also spreading propaganda that Pahalgam attack terrorists weren't Pakistani.  👨Full Name: Md Anas Ahsan Mallick…
Anas Mallick who is Diplomatic Editor at ISI sponsored Asia One News, spends every day spreading lies, forgery, and deceptive comments.

There are key takeaways from his story:

1. The Pakistani mainstream be it the Military, Foreign Affairs, or the Media loves fraudulent personnel who have a history of forgery and can tell lies effortlessly. Aside from Anas, the current DJ-ISPR and Tahir Andrabi are two more examples of forgery, as both can tell lies effortlessly.

Our recent post on the reported capture of the Talkhari Camp by the BLF seems to have attracted a wave of DG ISPR-linked digital accounts responding in a coordinated, though remarkably unsophisticated, manner. The attached images speak for themselves.

This is not how effective information warfare is conducted. When nearly every account pushing the counter-narrative is visibly based in Pakistan, the coordination becomes immediately apparent. Creating accounts with names associated with Balochistan and then attempting to dilute or obscure inconvenient facts does little to strengthen credibility. If the objective is narrative management, the approach needs to be considerably more subtle, credible and convincing.

Please come back with something different.

📍Lakki Marwat | Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The TTP’s Zmarayano faction, reportedly associated with commander Sailab, claims its fighters shot down a new-model Pakistani security forces drone in the Tajori area of Lakki Marwat.

The claim suggests militants may have successfully targeted a recently deployed surveillance UAV, although the type of drone and circumstances of the reported shoot-down remain unclear.

The incident has not been independently verified.

Mango 🥭 & Whiskey 🥃

Failed Marshal Asim Munir is paranoid about threat from Senior Pakistan Army Officers. He keeps loaded pistols in his cupboard. He has deployed bodyguard 24×7 outside  his bedroom.

He should worry about Junior Pak Army officers & Jawans who are getting killed on daily basis in Occupied Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There is huge anger among lower ranks of Pakistan Army against Asim Munir & his loyalists.

The morale of the Pakistan Army is also down due to internal political friction, economic challenges and counter-insurgency fatigue.

⚠️ An important development in the Al-Qaeda – TTP relationship.

An AQ-linked voice from the Indian Subcontinent has publicly pushed back against TTP-linked criticism, while repeatedly insisting that AQ/AQIS does not oppose TTP.
The statement nevertheless reveals growing ideological friction, with accusations over methodology, forced fundraising, attacks on markets, unjust killings, targeting defectors and attempts to eliminate rival jihadist groups.
This matters because AQ–TTP ties are much deeper than a simple “alliance.” UN reporting has documented AQ/AQIS providing TTP with training, ideological guidance and manpower, including fighters supporting TTP operations in Pakistan.
The movement of personnel, expertise and technology across this wider militant ecosystem is particularly significant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
TTP's growing drone capability is already documented, including its formal “Air Force” unit and increasing use of commercial quadcopters in KP. Recent research also points to AQ as an important source of technical knowledge for Pakistani jihadist groups.
So this is not simply an ideological dispute.

It highlights how AQ's broader network can contribute expertise while TTP provides an established operational environment inside KP.
Cooperation under friction — not a clean AQ–TTP split.
