โ–ถ๏ธWhile the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒU.S. designation of TRF as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) may seem like a diplomatic victoryโ†—๏ธ, it is ultimately toothlessโ†˜๏ธin addressing ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India's security concerns. It neither deters ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐPakistanโ€™s proxy war architecture nor disrupts the strategic utility of such terror proxies.

1๏ธโƒฃ. ๐Ÿ—TRF Is a Disposable Mask,
Not the Face
TRF is a rebranded front for ๐ŸชณLashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), created to escape global scrutiny after LeT was proscribed. These fronts are fungible and easily replaceable.

๐Ÿ” Just like TRF emerged post-2019 to whitewash LeT's image post-26/11 and FATF scrutiny, Pakistan-backed groups will simply create new names.

The U.S. designation is thus akin to shooting the puppet and sparing the puppeteer.

2๏ธโƒฃ. Proxy Ecosystem
Remains Untouched
The ISIโ€™s systemic use of proxies as deniable instruments of warfare continues unabated.

Designating ๐ŸทTRF doesnโ€™t dismantle the ecosystem that recruits, trains, arms, and exports militants across the LoC.

๐Ÿ” Thereโ€™s no cost imposed on Pakistanโ€™s state structures, which are responsible for engineering these fronts.

3๏ธโƒฃ. Delayed & Cosmetic Move
The U.S. took years to designate a group that had openly claimed dozens of attacks and had known links to LeT.

๐Ÿ” It suggests that the designation is more about optics and bilateral signaling than real counterterrorism resolve.

๐Ÿ” Had this move come earlierโ€”say, in 2020 or 2021โ€”it could have added pressure. Now, it only recognizes a spent alias, not an active threat.

4๏ธโƒฃ. No Operational Disruption on the Ground
The designation doesnโ€™t degrade TRFโ€™s operational capabilities inside J&K. Their recruits donโ€™t bank in New York or travel to California.

๐Ÿ” Most TRF cadres are locally radicalized or regionally trained, and donโ€™t depend on Western infrastructure the U.S. sanctions can impact.

5๏ธโƒฃ. U.S. Still Avoids Naming the Source: Pakistan
The U.S. continues to tread softly around Pakistan, despite clear proof of its role in enabling TRF, PAFF, and similar groups.

๐Ÿ” By targeting only the proxies and not the sponsor, the move serves as a pressure-release valve for Islamabad, not a punishment.
6๏ธโƒฃ. India Gains No Tactical Leverage
India already knew TRF was LeT. The designation adds no new intelligence, no actionable cooperation, and no strategic advantage.

๐Ÿ” Unless the designation is followed by material actionโ€”like blacklisting ISI-linked officers, banning new LeT aliases, or exposing terror funding trailsโ€”it is a hollow gesture.

7๏ธโƒฃ. Encourages Tactical Churn,
Not Compliance
Such designations incentivize terror groups to rebrand again and become more sophisticated in disguising their origins.

โ€ผ๏ธThe pattern is clear: JeM โ†’๐Ÿ‘ KT; LeT โ†’ ๐ŸทTRF โ†’๐Ÿชณ PAFF โ†’ KRA. Each ban just prompts a name change, not dismantlement.
๏ปฟ
โœ๏ธConclusion:
The U.S. FTO designation of TRF is a symbolic victory with negligible strategic value for India๐Ÿ‘€. It doesnโ€™t address the root problemโ€”Pakistanโ€™s state complicity and the deliberate use of deniable terror outfits as instruments of asymmetric warfare. Until the U.S. begins naming and sanctioning the real sponsorsโ€”the military-jihadi complex of Pakistanโ€”India must treat such gestures as what they are: diplomatic placebos.

โ—๏ธโšก๏ธThailand-Cambodia Skirmishes 2025

โœ๏ธHistorical Pretext

In 1907, the Thai-Cambodian border was mapped by the French on behalf of a bilateral border commission. According to the 1904 agreement, the border would follow the natural watershed between the countries. However, the resulting map deviated by showing Preah Vihear Temple as being in Cambodia, even though it is on the Thai side of the watershed. Thailand accepted the map for official use. The Thais discovered the error when they made their own survey in the 1930s, but the ICJ ruled that they had waited too long to protest and lost the temple by "acquiescence"
In 1962, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) awarded ownership of Preah Vihear Temple to Cambodia by a nine to three vote, stating the 1907 map clearly showed Preah Vihear as being in Cambodia.[15] Nevertheless, the court had only ruled that the temple belongs to Cambodia, and did not comment on the adjacent land to the north. Thailand reluctantly handed over the temple but continues to claim the surrounding area, insisting the border has never officially been demarcated here.

โ€ผ๏ธ1 Soldier attained martyrdom๐Ÿ’” and 2 others were injured , during a patrol โ†—๏ธin Salotari area of Tehsil Haveli , District Poonch ๐ŸŒฒ

โ–ถ๏ธPrelude

Landmine Blasts๐Ÿ’ฅ are very commen From Tarkundi to Shahpur sector (including Balnoi,Degwar,Tekri,Balakote Sector)

1๏ธโƒฃSpatial Demographics๐Ÿ
Pojk Villages are just adjacent to Indian Army posts located uphill them, Occasionally allowed fr cattle grazing๐Ÿ„ and firewood collection๐ŸŒฒ

2๏ธโƒฃTerrain๐ŸŒฒ
The terrain is tough, deeply forested ๐ŸŒณ. Due to this the borders are very challenging For conventional LoS (Line of the sight) or Manual foot patrolling , Sometimes Woman ๐Ÿ‘ปcross Loc in Poonch , to Unite with their Beloveds ๐Ÿ˜ .

3๏ธโƒฃMilitary statergism ๐Ÿ“Œ
Other reason is the other side has logistical ๐Ÿš˜military advantage in case of full scale war their side of border is mostly a flat terrain: The reason They were using SH-15 Truck mounted Howitzers from PoJK. Which have excellent Shoot and scoot Capabilities owing to their wheeled setup. In case of war they can move in Tracked setup like howitzers , Tanks,IFVs with greater ease.

Due to these three factors the area is heavily mined with APMโ€ผ๏ธ mines, to tackle both infiltration of trts and Pak Army in case of a Conventional Warโ†˜๏ธ.

๐ŸพImmediate Cause
Most incidents are accidental due to heavy rainsโ˜‚๏ธ these mines slide beneath the soil due to sharp contours in these areas, and soldiers accidentally step on them , sometimes soldiers during CASOs๐Ÿ‘ and Encounters accidently step on them and sometimes these are BAT actions.

โฌ‡๏ธLast year on 9 December 1 soldier attained martyrdom in adjacent Tekri sector in similar way.
