🇧🇾📈 Belarusian Economy Sees 3.1% Investment Growth in 2026

Investment in Belarus grew by 3.1% during the first eight months of 2026 compared with the same period last year. Spending on machinery and equipment rose 5.8%, while investment in intellectual property, research and development increased by more than 6%.

Belarus is prioritising manufacturing, agriculture, technological development and more than 900 major investment projects.

🚨🇵🇸 Gaza Faces Growing Famine Fears as Food Aid Is Cut and Shipments Remain Suspended

The World Food Programme (WFP) is reducing food assistance in Gaza amid continued restrictions on incoming shipments, leaving hundreds of thousands of Palestinians at greater risk of food insecurity.

According to Al Jazeera, the WFP will reduce the number of people receiving monthly food assistance from 1.6 million to 1.1 million, while halving food rations. Daily hot meals will also fall from 250,000 to 150,000.

Meanwhile, the continued suspension of aid shipments and commercial goods has driven up food prices. The price of a bundle of bread reportedly rose from 5 to 12 shekels, while egg prices increased by around 300% in a week.

Displaced families say they depend on food parcels to survive and fear hunger will worsen as winter approaches. The WFP says the cuts are due to funding shortages, despite ongoing humanitarian needs.
