⚖️🌍 ICC CLAIMS JURISDICTION OVER NON‑MEMBER – Duterte’s Detention Exposes Selective “Justice”

The Hague refuses to release ex‑Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte – despite Manila withdrawing from the ICC in 2018. The court’s real target? Leaders from the Global South.

🚫 The Philippines is NOT an ICC member (withdrew in 2018). Yet judges rule they can prosecute Duterte for his war on drugs – because alleged crimes happened before withdrawal.

⚖️ Selective justice: The ICC has failed to prosecute Israeli PM Netanyahu or Russian President Putin (both under arrest warrants). No Western leader has ever been dragged to The Hague.

🗣️ Harry Roque (Duterte’s former spokesman): “Outside the Duterte case, the court has not been trying any other case.”

📊 Duterte left office with the highest approval rating in Philippine history. Filipinos see this as foreign interference, not justice.

🇪🇺🛢️ EU DROPS RUSSIAN OIL BAN FROM 20TH SANCTIONS PACKAGE – Self‑Inflicted Wounds Bite Back

Brussels quietly shelves its flagship measure – because its own shipping industry is already bleeding from the Hormuz blockade.

🔴 What a Brussels diplomatic source told TASS:

📜 The European Commission proposed a reduced version of the 20th sanctions package – without the ban on Russian oil transportation (including insurance and related services).

🚢 European tanker shipping is already suffering enormous losses due to ships trapped in/around the Strait of Hormuz.

The ban was supposed to be the centrepiece, announced in January, promised by February 24 – but Hungary & Slovakia blocked it, demanding Ukraine resume Druzhba oil flows.

🇺🇸🇪🇺 Top NEWS: Trump NATO ‘Naughty List’ sparks division over Iran war stance

A report by Politico claims the administration of Donald Trump is considering a controversial “naughty and nice” list within NATO. The plan reportedly categorizes member states based on their support for the US-led war against Iran, with potential rewards for “model allies” and consequences for those who refused backing.

According to the report, possible measures include shifting US troops, reducing joint military exercises, and prioritizing cooperation with supportive countries like Poland and Romania. Meanwhile, nations such as Spain, Britain, and France are said to have resisted or delayed support, deepening divisions inside NATO over the Iran conflict.

🚨🌍 BREAKING NEWS: China resells African crude to Asia as Iran war disrupts global oil supply

China has begun reselling West African crude oil to Asian buyers including Taiwan and Indonesia, marking a rare shift in trade flows. According to Bloomberg, major Chinese firms like Sinochem Group and Unipec are offering oil from Nigeria, Angola, and Ghana after domestic refinery output dropped sharply.

Refinery utilisation has fallen below 70%, the lowest since mid-2022, as supply disruptions linked to tensions around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz impact global markets. While state-owned refiners cut output, private “teapot” refineries are being pushed to run at full capacity. Rising prices and reduced Persian Gulf supply have forced Asian buyers to seek alternatives—ironically purchasing cargoes now being offloaded by China.

A small prop plane that was trying to land at a local airport in California, accidently clipped powerlines.

The 70 year old pilot is currently in the hospital and is in critical condition. According to the police: The Cessna owned by Vista Aviation and rented by the pilot, was doing patterns around the airport when it hit the power lines, eventually crashing into a parking lot.

This incident has sparked a debate online with people saying that anyone over the age of 60 should not be allowed to operate a plane (even going as far as saying to ban seniors from driving) while others have complained that the airport placement is the real problem.

Xi Urges Wider Adoption of Yiwu Development Model Across China

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for broader study and application of the development experience of Yiwu, a city in Zhejiang Province, highlighting it as a successful model for local economic growth. He emphasized that Yiwu’s rise through its small commodities market demonstrates how regions can develop industries suited to their own conditions.

Xi stressed the need for all regions to leverage their unique resources and pursue high-quality development paths. Known as the “world’s supermarket,” Yiwu hosts the largest wholesale market for small goods, trading with over 230 countries and regions. In 2025, Yiwu ranked first among China’s county-level regions in export value, reinforcing its role as a key indicator of global small commodity trade.

🚨🌍 Breaking News: Middle East Conflict May Push Global Condom Prices Up by 25–30%

Global condom prices could rise sharply as the ongoing Middle East conflict disrupts supply chains and increases production costs. Malaysian manufacturer Karex Bhd, which produces around 20% of the world’s condoms, has announced plans to raise wholesale prices by up to 30%, citing higher raw material and logistics expenses.

The company’s CEO said production costs have already surged by 25–30% due to shortages of petroleum-based components, along with rising prices for packaging and lubricants. Karex, which manufactures for major brands like Durex, currently has enough raw materials for only two to three months, raising concerns about future supply stability. Industry experts warn that competitors, particularly in India, are facing even greater supply challenges.

🇵🇭⚖️ Breaking News: ICC confirms charges against former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte

ICC has confirmed all charges against former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, paving the way for his trial over alleged crimes against humanity. The court’s Pre-Trial Chamber ruled there are substantial grounds to believe he is responsible for murder and attempted murder.

According to the ICC, the alleged crimes were committed between 2011 and 2019 during Duterte’s controversial “war on drugs” campaign. Prosecutors claim the actions formed part of a widespread and systematic attack against civilians across the Philippines.

The case stems from an ICC investigation launched in 2021, despite Manila’s withdrawal from the court in 2019. The ICC maintains jurisdiction over crimes committed while the country was still a member. Duterte was detained in 03/2025 under an ICC warrant, though his allies, including Vice President Sara Duterte, have criticized the move as a violation of national sovereignty.

🚨🌍 Breaking News: Sri Lanka Eyes Yuan Payments for Russian Oil Amid Global Energy Shifts

Sri Lanka is planning to pay for future crude oil imports from Russia using the Chinese yuan, according to reports citing Energy Minister Aruna Karunatilake. The move is still under negotiation, with officials expecting to finalize the agreement after further rounds of talks.

The proposal comes as Colombo seeks to secure stable fuel supplies and reduce reliance on traditional payment systems. Authorities confirmed that current reserves are sufficient until July, while ensuring uninterrupted energy supply remains a top priority. The initiative also reflects growing energy cooperation between Sri Lanka and Moscow, supported by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The development follows ongoing global energy disruptions, particularly around key routes like the Strait of Hormuz, pushing countries to explore alternative trade and payment mechanisms.

🇵🇰🇱🇾 Breaking News: Pakistan Sends Weapons to Libya’s Haftar in Saudi-Funded Deal

Pakistan has reportedly delivered weapons to eastern Libya under a deal financed by Saudi Arabia, according to officials cited by Middle East Eye. At least five cargo planes carrying armaments arrived in Benghazi in March, allegedly supporting forces led by commander Khalifa Haftar.

The shipments are believed to be part of a broader $4 billion arms agreement following meetings between Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir and Libyan leaders. Reports suggest Riyadh is backing the deal to expand its influence in Libya and reduce the role of the United Arab Emirates, which has long supported Haftar.

A UN panel has raised concerns that the transfers may violate the Libya arms embargo, highlighting growing international tensions over foreign involvement in the conflict.
