Speaking during a Kremlin meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Putin highlighted the depth of ties built between the two countries over decades.
He stressed that cooperation now extends across virtually every major area from governments and parliaments to businesses.

President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree allowing the Russian government to temporarily take control of critical facilities when owners fail to maintain security measures or delay essential repairs.
The measure covers fuel and energy facilities, industrial enterprises, communications, utilities, transport and logistics networks, even nuclear power plants.
Moscow says the move comes amid growing security threats to Russia’s critical infrastructure.
The decree takes effect immediately.

A towering mountain of rubbish collapsed in Conakry after heavy overnight rain, burying homes and people beneath tonnes of waste and mud.
The disaster struck around 2am while residents were asleep.
At least 30 people were killed and six critically injured, while rescue teams continue searching through the debris.
The landfill had already been declared unsafe, with authorities planning to close it and relocate the waste. Yet vulnerable families were still living beside the site.
