After more than nine hours of deliberations, the jury found both defendants guilty.
They were released on bail and will be sentenced in September

Once operational, the tunnel will bring high-speed rail to Chongming Island for the first time and cut travel time between Chongming and Shanghai Baoshan Station to just 17 minutes.

Brazil has become the world's top buyer of Chinese-made vehicles, importing US$5.2 billion worth in the first five months of 2026, a 147% increase from a year earlier. Electric and hybrid models accounted for US$4.5 billion of total imports, driven by strong demand and shipments ahead of Brazil's July tariff increase.
