Millions of Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid ul-Adha, one of Islam’s holiest festivals, with prayers, charity, family gatherings, and Qurbani sacrifices.
The festival honors Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and coincides with the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
Due to lunar moon sightings, celebrations are taking place on different days worldwide. Saudi Arabia, Gulf nations, the US, Canada, and parts of Europe marked Eid today, May 27, while Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and several South Asian countries will officially celebrate tomorrow, May 28.
From Eidgahs in Dhaka to mosques in Istanbul and London, worshippers gathered for special Eid prayers and exchanged “Eid Mubarak” greetings.
The tradition of Qurbani also continues globally, with meat shared among families, relatives, and the poor, reflecting the festival’s message of sacrifice, charity, and unity.
