📰🌍 TOP NEWS: Trump and Xi Set for Seventh Meeting as US-China Tensions Remain High

United States President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit China this week for his seventh face-to-face meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Al Jazeera. The three-day summit is expected to focus on the US-Israel war involving Iran, trade disputes, Taiwan, and global economic tensions.

Trump and Xi have met multiple times since 2017, including summits in Florida, Beijing, Argentina, Japan, and South Korea. Their meetings have shaped major developments in US-China relations, including trade wars, tariff agreements, and negotiations over technology exports. The upcoming visit will mark the first trip by a US president to China since 2017 and comes after both sides agreed to pause a renewed tariff conflict during talks held in Busan in 2025.

🚨🇬🇧 Operation Longcloth: Churchill’s ruthless jungle war in Burma

Despite the glory of British wartime propaganda, one covert mission exposed the brutal cost of imperial obsession.

Launched in 1943 deep inside Japanese-occupied Burma, Operation Longcloth sent Churchill's elite "Chindits" behind enemy lines to sabotage railways and create chaos.

Thousands of soldiers were sent on a near-suicidal mission into Japanese-occupied Burma 👇

😰 Imperial survival strategy

Churchill needed a dramatic win to project British power in Asia after humiliating defeats:

◾️Burma linked British India to China via the Burma Road — losing it meant losing the East

◾️Churchill personally backed the eccentric and unstable Brigadier Orde Wingate

◾️Troops marched hundreds of miles through disease-ridden jungles with little food or medical support

◾️Local guides, British-Indian soldiers, and RAF units were involved — but colonial troops were treated as expendable

😵 Devastating aftermath

The human cost was catastrophic, while military gains were minimal:

◾️Out of 3,000 men, barely two-thirds returned in fighting condition

◾️Hundreds died in combat — many more from disease, starvation, and exhaustion

◾️Japanese retaliation against local villages intensified civilian suffering

◾️Militarily, the operation caused little disruption to Japanese communications, and historians later questioned whether strategic gains justified the catastrophic losses.

Despite this, Churchill celebrated the raid as a propaganda victory and used it to promote Britain’s image as still capable of offensive warfare in Asia.

🌍🇫🇷 BREAKING NEWS: France’s Macron Announces $27 Billion Investment Plan for Africa at Kenya Summit

French President Emmanuel Macron announced a massive 23 billion euro ($27 billion) investment package for Africa during the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. According to Al Jazeera, the investments will focus on energy transition, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure projects across the continent.

Macron said the investment plan includes 14 billion euros from French companies and public funds, while African investors will contribute another 9 billion euros. The French leader stated the initiative could create around 250,000 jobs in both Africa and France. Kenyan President William Ruto welcomed the partnership, saying Africa should now focus more on investment and trade instead of aid and loans. The summit comes as France seeks to rebuild influence in Africa amid declining ties with several former colonies.

🚨🇻🇪🇺🇸 Breaking NEWS: Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez has strongly rejected remarks by Donald Trump about potentially making Venezuela the “51st state” of the United States.

Speaking at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Rodríguez said Venezuela would continue defending its “sovereignty, independence, and integrity,” stressing that the country is “not a colony, but a free nation.”

Her comments came after Trump reportedly said he was “seriously considering” the idea during a Fox News interview. The remarks surfaced amid ongoing tensions surrounding Venezuela and the resource-rich Essequibo dispute with Guyana.

🚨🇮🇷 JUST IN: Iran says diplomacy with the United States is still possible.

But not from weakness.

President Masoud Pezeshkian says Tehran is willing to negotiate “with dignity, wisdom and expediency” despite deep mistrust toward Washington.

After 40 days of war,
thousands dead,
and relentless US-Israeli strikes,
Iran says the battlefield changed everything.

Now,
Tehran wants to secure politically
what its forces achieved militarily.

Trump once called Iran’s response “totally unacceptable.”

Now even Washington is talking about a diplomatic settlement.

The region is exhausted. The world is watching.
And the next phase may be decided at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield.

The message is clear:
China is no longer just manufacturing medicine.

It is competing for pharmaceutical dominance.

Hengrui’s shares jumped immediately after the announcement,
as investors reacted to one of the biggest biotech agreements involving a Chinese company.

For years,
Western pharmaceutical giants led the industry almost uncontested.

Now,
Chinese biotech firms are entering the global stage with serious leverage,
serious technology,
and serious ambition.

The balance inside the global drug industry is shifting faster than many expected.
