Vietnam’s two refineries meet about 70% of the country’s fuel needs, relying heavily on Middle Eastern crude.
In talks with Japan, Long also discussed boosting Japanese investment in LNG and nuclear power in Vietnam. With South Korea, he sought support for accessing crude oil sources. Last year, Vietnam imported 14.2 million tons of crude oil, up 5.3% from the previous year.
