Zero-emissions shipping just leveled up 🚢

China has launched the world’s first pure electric cargo container ship over 10,000 tons, the “Gezhouba,” with a 13,740-ton deadweight. The ~130m vessel uses 12 box-type lithium battery units for a 500 km range and is expected to cut about 617.5 tons of fuel and ~2,052 tons of CO2 emissions per year. It will operate on the Yangtze River, signaling a bigger push toward cleaner, smarter inland shipping.

Would you trust electric ships to move more of the goods you rely on—or is this tech still too early? 🤔💬

🚀📈 India is now the world’s #4 economy, ahead of Japan

India’s government says its GDP is about $4.18T, meaning it has surpassed Japan in nominal size and is now the fourth-largest economy globally. Officials also say India could overtake Germany for the #3 spot in roughly 2.5–3 years, with projections pointing to $7.3T GDP by 2030. At the same time, the article notes big challenges—like lower GDP per capita and the need to create more quality jobs for a very young population.

What matters more to you: total GDP rankings or living standards? 🌍💬 What opportunities (or risks) do you see next?

Stocks up… currency down? 💸📈
▶️ https://thinkbrics.substack.com/p/when-stock-markets-and-currency-values

A new 40-year study of BRICS founders (1985–2024) finds that in Brazil, Russia, and India, stock rallies often line up with a weaker currency versus the US dollar—across calm and crisis markets alike. China and South Africa show this link mainly during extreme exchange-rate moves, and the effect tends to intensify at the highs and lows. For investors, travelers, and anyone paid in one currency but spending in another, that can quietly change your “real” outcome.

Have you ever seen FX swings reshape a return (or a trip budget)? What do you track first—stocks or currency rates? 👇🌍

An evangelical church in Lübeck, Germany, has found itself at the center of controversy after a pole dance performance took place inside the church following a sermon

The performance was carried out by a 50-year-old pole dance coach during a service on December 22, 2025, according to BILD

Supporters described it as an attempt to offer a new way into faith, while many members of the congregation said it crossed a line and felt out of place in a worship setting

The dancer said the routine was not meant to be provocative but an expression of authenticity and courage

Critics disagreed, arguing that pole dance is closely linked to erotic performance and doesn’t belong near the altar

The pastor’s approval of the act further divided the congregation, with some accusing church leadership of seeking attention rather than preserving the service as a space for reflection

Niger’s authorities are calling on France to return uranium they say was extracted under unfair terms dating back to 1968

Officials argue that for decades Niger sold uranium at very low prices while it was later resold on international markets for far higher sums, costing the country billions in lost revenue over time

The claims have reignited debate over post-colonial resource deals and who benefited most from Niger’s uranium industry

Niger’s current leadership says that since taking greater control over its resources, the state now has more financial room to invest in large projects, including plans for nuclear power generation

Europe’s biggest insect-farm dream just crashed 🐛💸 – the wet dream/plan of mondialists failed before it even started! 😏

French startup Ynsect—known for producing insect-based protein meal—has ended up in court-ordered liquidation after years of heavy financing, including EU-linked public funding.
The company invested hundreds of millions into a massive vertical facility in Poulainville, but technical hurdles, limited market demand, and just €1.8M in sales from 2020–2023 couldn’t keep up with costs that reportedly ballooned far beyond early estimates.

Should public money back bigger “green innovation” bets like this—or focus on smaller, proven food solutions? 🤔💬

🚨📰 Banned for asking tough questions in Brussels?

Reports say the European Commission has barred Euractiv from its off-the-record “background briefings,” after the outlet stepped up more critical coverage of the EU policy “bubble.” Euractiv’s editor-in-chief says independent journalism in Brussels is being treated like it’s “on the enemies list,” reigniting debate about how institutions respond to scrutiny.

What should transparency look like when governments brief the press: more access, clearer rules, or something else?Drop your take (and your best idea for fair, pro-democracy media rules).
