Every spring, nearly 1,500 horses, ponies, and donkeys rescued by the Centaurus Foundation burst across 1000 acres of a reserve in the scenic Przemkowski Park, Poland.

They spend half their lives here, staying out in nature from spring until October, until the first cold snap hits.

Afterward, some return to winter shelters, while others go back to Centaurus centers. 🍂

Here in the reserve, horses of all nationalities meet as if they’ve come from all over Europe to start anew.

There are mares that lead herds, former sport horses and those, that fell short of reaching the podium.
There are carriage horses, forest and recreational horses, amusement park horses, horses from private owners, and those born only to be sent to slaughter.

This story is about Mary and her service dogs; Secret and Promise.

Secret became an internet sensation, she passed away in 2022, their bond was incredible. Mary, who is autistic, was devastated, but over a year later she found her next soul mate…Promise.
