The June Pixel Feature Drop based on the stable Android 13 QPR3 has been released.
What's new for Pixel phones:
• Starting a safety check via the "Hey, Google, run a safety check" command.
• Macro video capture mode for Pixel 7 Pro.
• Automatically start the photo timer via raising your palm (Pixel 6 and newer)
• Cinematic wallpaper for Pixel 6 and newer.
• Emoji Workshop wallpaper (Pixel 4a and newer)
• Export transcripts from Recorder to Google Docs, generate video clips with speaker tagging and search for speakers in recordings. (Pixel 6 and newer)
• Adaptive charging with AI that predicts a long charging session based on your history and will charge your smartphone up to 100% an hour before you're expected to unplug.
• "Adaptive Alert Vibration" for Pixel 6a and 7a. Reduces the intensity of vibration when the device is on a hard, flat surface.

Student Research Assistant II _Non-FWS
This position will support a qualitative, exploratory study using interviews to (1) identify factors that lead to pre-medical students changing their career path, (2) explore ways that previous pre-medical students come to develop and adjust to a new career aspiration, and (3) examine the role that higher education faculty, administrators, and staff who advise pre-medical students may play to support them in this process. The results of the study can inform best practices for academic advisors to guide them towards alternative, meaningful, and better-suited career paths.The research assistant will be responsible for several aspects of the funded project as detailed below. Candidates will have experience or will be trained to conduct research using qualitative data collection and analysis methods. Data collected through interviews will be used extensively by the research team for empirical analysis, manuscript development, posters and presentations, and possibly additional grant applications.
Responsibilities include:Meet with the PI regularly to develop research plans, strategize, and discuss and analyze findings.Assist in the development and pilot testing of an interview protocol for the project with a subsample of study participants.Coordinate with the PI to schedule study participants for interviews.Ensure the accuracy of transcripts generated from recordings of interviews.Input data into NVIVO for analysisAssist in data analysis and provide written reports on findings.Contribute to team writing projects including manuscripts for publication.Present materials (when possible) through briefs, posters, and other presentations.
