Too many modern women are just unpleasant to interact with. They’re condescending in tone or just miserable and argumentative.

Especially older generations still in the workforce. There’s a rudeness about them that makes dealing with them tedious.

It makes me sad that the species of sweet old ladies is becoming endangered.

On Happiness

One of my mottos I try to instill into my kinsmen is “Health, Wealth and Happiness”.

“Happiness” being the most overlooked and hardest to achieve.

Are you happy? Why not?

It’s difficult to be happy while sick and poor. Poverty and bad health are obstacles to true happiness.

And by “true” I mean happiness as a base state of being. To have the instinct of positive reflex. When you are confronted with troubles, your reflex is to find solutions, silver linings or just remain unperturbed.

“The world does not trouble me. It is I who troubles the world.” - Louis Farrakhan.

The unhappy mind is overly critical, nervous, stressed, paranoid and looks for things to hate/critique.

“The ill-mannered man criticizes all he hears.” - Havamal.

Health and wealth are things you need to invest in. You have to work incrementally towards your fitness and building stable finances.

Happiness is no different.

Plenty of miserable millionaires. Even more jacked gym rats who hate their own existence. Neither of them are a miracle pill to happiness.

Especially as you age and your responsibilities become more complex and looming. A single financial mistake can have serious repercussions and your body heals/builds much slower.

The balance is far harder than folks would like to admit. In an age where it’s easier than ever to have access to disposable income and fitness education/resources, there is grim shortage of happiness.

Many will read this and blame the state of the world, politics, society etc etc.

And yes, these things are present. But those forces are completely unaware of your existence. They don’t know, nor care about you. And in fact, it’s better that way because they’re in some cases generally hostile to you.

The internet creates the illusion that these things are closer to you than they really are. A full moon appears larger in the night sky than a passing jet.

Thus they force from you a reaction of creating a black cloud over your own head. It’s masochism and it’s completely of your own creation.

And while these bits of far off information may be necessary to be aware of. You become what you consume. That grim looming cloud grows ever larger the more you incrementally invest in it by injecting this stimulus into your subconscious.

You’re not the one individual who can avoid this outcome. You’re not mentally stronger than everyone else. No matter who you are, if you eat 5k calories of chocolate cake everyday, you will become fat and malnourished. It’s exactly the same. Any argument is cope and justification for your addiction.

Why are you robbing yourself of happiness because of forces far outside of your domain of influence? Pure masochism.

Beyond healthy consumption of stimuli is the rewiring of your mind’s reflexes. Training yourself to have positive reflex instead of negative.

You can wake up and choose to be happy. It takes time, resilience and investment. It requires patience and discipline.

But eventually you will begin to wake up with a happy disposition without having to consciously choose.

Bad and unlucky things happen to everyone. The happy mind digests them and remembers the good.

The unhappy mind holds the bad in his mouth, never swallowing. Letting the bitter taste distract him from the good that pass him by.

Both men can have the same experiences. The happy man will report his pleasures and triumphs. The curmudgeon will tell you a tale of misery and misfortune.

The only reason one could possibly reject investing in his happiness is because he hates himself. And you can’t expect genuine love projected from a being who has none for himself.

Get strong, get paid and become happy. You don’t a reason or a prerequisite. You don’t need to justify it to anyone or yourself.

Just be.

There’s a dude in my neighborhood who’s a disabled vet. He rolls around every day in his motor wheelchair blasting ZZ Top sipping on pounders and chain smoking cigars.

If I got a video of him it’d do big numbers because he’s a human meme but I can’t. I want to let my man stay unmolested by the scumbag internet.

If you ask him how he’s doing he says “Livin’ the dream” or that he’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” and just keeps rolling.

Why do these types all sound like some naggy frigid ex wife? Total longhouse energy.

We all know what the line is. Nobody in these spaces is soyfacing in their manbaby room of funkos and anime posters.

It’s perfectly healthy to have a room in your house dedicated to creativity or your favorite pastimes.

It’s perfect healthy to have hobbies and interests. Grey-brains just don’t have imagination.

Dudes have been gaming and getting obsessed with hobbies forever. Imagine showing Mr. Wells your 40k army. His mind would be blown.

These “put childish things away” types are modernists who have a romanticized fantasy of mustached gentlemen in earth-toned studies diligently scouring through dense tomes.

It’s really just a justification for their own existence as joyless dorks who can’t envision the mind-apple. Math-brained bores who probably couldn’t dance their way out of a paper bag.

Bros have always been Bros and have enjoyed fun, beauty, weirdness and wonder.

Stop trying to scold men of their boyish vibrancy so you can have a race of eunuch bean counters for you to fit into.

It’s not traditional, it’s not historical and it’s not “fatherly advice”. It’s gay and boring. Church lady tier cringe.

Edit: To clarify, I’m not saying you can’t be a studious history bro or scholar. That’s absolutely based. You can be both. I’m just sick of the scolds.
Thrownness.

We as a generation of fathers now have the ability to relate to our children far better than the previous generations.

I loved my grandfathers but they didn’t quite understand my interests growing up.

My paternal grandfather was an engineer by trade and a polymath. So he was curious about videogames and found my music intriguing because of its speed and complexity. But he couldn’t relate to it. He was a stoic observer.

My maternal grandfather was very art minded and was a hobbyist aestheticist. He painted, sculpted and read fiction. So he’d thumb through my comic books and watch movies with me. He tried to get it and generally enjoyed it but he was like a foreigner trying to converse with only rudimentary vocabulary.

I, on the other hand, will be able to completely relate to my kids and grandkids. The things that developed in my time growing up are still around. I can level with them and engage in their favorite things.

All of the best artforms and pastimes have foreverness. Films, games and stories that remain meaningful throughout your life. This parallels to the storytelling traditions of the ancient world.

The Neverending Story, Ninja Turtles and Fire and Ice communicate things that are excellent for kids and become sophisticated virtues to ponder on as adults. They grow with us. Much like the folktales and epics of old.

We exist in a brief time where advancement has slowed enough for sons to have commonality with their fathers once again.

WW2 gen, boomers and gen X didn’t get to have that relatability.

We know all the slang, all the tricks and all the dangers. We’re going to be a generation of parents who aren’t naive about the new world around us.

Our thrownness awards us this gift of being more like our ancestors who didn’t experience rapid technological and social changes.

There’s absolutely no reason to reject it outside of cart-before-horse niche idealism trying to cook the hottest reactionary take on the internet.

My nana used to say “count your blessings”. And I think it’s time we count our blessings as who we are today instead of trying to dig out yet another layer of self-hate and identity crisis.
"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

Or Holles custom

This channel is dedicated to reviving the cult of Holle, her customs, traditions and taboos as well as the religious and semi-religious practices that our forefathers would have followed. The cult of holle was present throughout most of Germany with the name of holle varying from region to region with many of the traits and characteristics of the goddess staying the same.

In Pennsylvanian German folk tradition there exists a myth about holle in which she was responsible for the migration of the first German settlers to the new world in 1682. All German-Americans are children of Holle and the goal of this channel is to help those who seek to revive her cult.

Hail Holle!
