Two schools in Edinburgh, Portobello and Queensferry High Schools, are the first in Scotland to introduce a strict/firm/stringent mobile-phone ban. Portobello started the rule earlier; Queensferry began on May 14.
Every student from S1 to S6 places their phone in a special/unique/exceptional pouch at the start of the school day. The pouch stays locked/sealed/secured with a magnet; students keep it with them but cannot open it until the final bell.
